"Wild Fern" was developed at the request of charter captains in Manistee and Grand Haven. It continues to be a dynamite fly for kings the entire summer. The green pearlescent colors in the fly combined with a white flasher with green tape or the green flasher helped many customers "box out" during the height of big king activity.
