This bluish looking fly fit a niche that the captains were looking for in a fly. It definitely appears different in the water than the “Blue No-See-Um” and paired with a white/pearl Pro-Troll flasher became our number two fly in sales during 2007. The Oceana catches all species in a variety of different waters and has been equally effective at many ports throughout the Great Lakes. The competition is scrambling over this fly and you can bet that they will make some attempt at a copy during the upcoming seasons.
