The "Viper" came on the scene in August of 2002 when I sensed a need to design a black fly that would be effective on staging cohos in Platte Bay. The result ended up being field tested with excellent results on the desired target as well as with kings. Captain Chip Klein of Hit Man Charters in Grand Haven cleaned up with the "Viper" on big kings in the early morning hours and in the darker waters around the pier heads. The "Viper" was a great coho fly in Wisconsin and a superb king fly in New York during the summer of 2005.
